make just one someone happy...

my kids back in 1973
Have to put the link to Jimmy Durante's song, "Make just one someone happy..." because when I was commenting yesterday (pertaining to the Alaskan trip), I looked it up on you tube and it made me feel good.  So, I'm going to share. Click here to hear the song.

As you can see from the picture, 2 of my 3 kids have red hair. My oldest (on the right) has 2 boys, a redhead like himself and a brunette, my daughter has a red headed clone of herself, and the baby there is the new father of our latest grandchild, who also looks like she will be red haired (although he himself is a brunette like DH and I).  None of this is of any importance, but I was looking for a photo to post and came across this one.

Daughter, Grand daughter, and Goliath

This is a good picture of Goliath, my daughter's pet Friesian (it's a long story). My husband calls him her expensive 'lawn ornament'.  She also has 2 black Quarterhorses that actually 'earn their keep'...

  1. You just reminded me of a series I read long ago (called Darkover), a sci-fi set of stories about how red hair indicates strong telepathic ability. I couldn't help it when I saw that picture of all those redheads! Wow! :-)

    1. Telepathic ability, huh? I do know they are 'sensitive' and can have a bit of a 'temper'...

  2. You have a beautiful family. My daughter was born with red hair, but it quickly turned to blonde color--not even that "strawberry blonde."

    1. This may happen with our latest grandbaby. She was born with red fuzz, but it has disappeared and we cannot tell for sure if it's coming back in red or blonde... sometimes it looks one, then the other. Time will tell.

    1. Thank you, Dee. When my first child was born, the red hair was a shock. Now, over the years, we've come to expect it.

  4. What a beautiful picture of your little children! Simply beautiful!

Ahhhhh, look at all that red hair! :-) As I have said so many time, we have one Red-Headed Granddaughter. 19 now. When little, she wasn't all that *thrilled* with her Red-Hair. But as she matured, she has grown to know it is a plus, to be used well. -grin-

I am in awe of people who are totally at ease with horses. Needless to say, I am not. Never having had any exposure, to them. -sigh- Such beautiful, beautiful creatures.

    1. "...to be used well" Yes, the girls learn that. But as youngsters, they tend to be kidded a bit (...called Red, Ginger, etc.) So maybe they earn the right to use it.

As for the horses, it has been a gradual progression. I loved horses growing up. But we lived in the city, so no way. But we got my daughter a horse when she was 12, and the love grew. Now her daughter has been riding since she was 3.
