the pull of Pinterest... and my own oddities

I came across this poster while surfing through Pinterest and had to post it.  It's so true...

We recently switched phone providers and were given unlimited data... so I was able to put Pinterest back on my iphone. If you've never used Pinterest, you should check it out. It's free... and you can cancel at any time. But there are absolutely fascinating pictures and ideas that show up. Some just blow my mind. (of course my mind may be easily blown).

Here are a few examples:

an old abandoned house

Some architectural oddities that are extremely interesting.

crow at window in winter

Can't tell you why this one gets me, but it does...

cat watercolors

I love these!

And this tornado from 2012...

Isn't that something?

Anyway, hope I didn't bore you, but these are just a very few of the things I've found that fascinate me.  My daughter loves some of the interior and exterior designs that she finds there. However, my interests are so eclectic, that  the site is an endless source of enticement for me.

Deviating from Pinterest and delving into my own source of oddity, here are pics of the 2 new ideas I just came up with for my Cheeky Chickens sculptures.

Chicken soap dish or kitchen sponge holder

chicken than can sit on top of cup or bowl

I'm not sure why you would want a chicken sitting on top of your cup or bowl...?? but you never know.

Hope you had a great weekend. It was overcast and dreary here, but it wasn't below freezing! Praying that all of you that are still snow-bound will get some relief soon... and that the worst is over.  And as always, thanks for dropping by.

  1. I wasn't at all bored, but since I don't have unlimited data, I will just enjoy the ones you choose to share with me. I love them all, including the cute chickens! :-)

    1. DJan, we couldn't afford unlimited data with our other service, but T-mobile has a *55 plus plan* that will give you unlimited data and no contract for $30/phone total. You might want to check it out. However, I will be more than happy to share the things on Pinterest that I find interesting.

    1. Joanne, you might want to check out *weaving* on Laura's Pinterest... you might be fascinated by what you find. And I imagine Laura must find some great recipes on it also. I have.

    1. I agree, Selina. That alone (what interests others) is fascinating to me also. Just seeing some of the art that people come up with is amazing.

  4. I do have a Pinterest account, but haven't logged into it in so long I don't recall when. I searched for a lot of interior design and decorating ideas at the time, as well as tiny homes, gardens, etc. Lots of great stuff!

Maybe you can do a chicken laying an egg into a cup or bowl. Ha. :-)

    1. I've seen some really interesting outdoor landscaping ideas on Pinterest... and I've used some of their recipes. But it's the unusual architecture or weather phenomenon that get me.
Guess I could put a nest full of chicken eggs in the bottom of the cup or bowl???

    1. There are quite a few photos of weather phenomenon on that site that would haunt me. Some may be photoshopped... at least I hope they are... because if I saw that, I'd probably have a heart attack.

  6. That house is really incredible but would have been a nightmare to keep cleaned. You'd need an enormous retinue of servants to keep it in shape.

Pinterest is a really interesting site to visit but you can really go down a rabbit hole and not emerge for hours at a time.

I love your little chickens------they have such personality. And why would anyone not want a chicken roosting on the rim of their bowl of cereal?

    1. Yes, I agree that you can really go down the rabbit hole with Pinterest. I use it mainly when we're watching reruns on TV or looking for something to write about on my blog.

  7. Oh Rian, I need one of those signs. A big one! I have absolutely no use for anybody who doesn't know how to treat an animal. Did I say that right?? :) I love your little chickens, and they would be cute anywhere!

    1. Isn't that the greatest sign? As for my cheeky chickens, they are fun to make... and are constantly doing something silly... like sitting on coffee cups or cereal bowls.

    1. I was off for a while too, Linda. It took up too much of my data when we had limited. Now I'm enjoying it again.

  9. I love Pinterest as well, but haven't looked for posters or architecture...I'm usually looking for free knitting and crocheting patterns There are a lot of cute ideas out there!

We're actually fairly warm here (after a very cold couple of weeks). Just around freezing today but colder temps expected later this week. It is January and I do live in Saskatchewan so it's not unusual at all!

Love your little chickens. I think I'd be happy to have a chicken sit on the edge of my cup or bowl. :)

    1. I had to look up *arm knitting* recently on Pinterest for my daughter who would like me to make her one of those huge yarn knitted blankets. Have you ever tried that? And I can only imagine how cold it is in Saskatchewan! As for the chickens, I'm going to make a few that can sit on the edge of a cup or bowl... and see how they fare.

  10. Dear Rian, it's been a chilled day here with drizzle--water mixed with sleet and then snow. I'm feeling so grateful that I have the means to pay for heating my home and food in the pantry and three cats to sleep with me and keep me toasty warm! I like your new designs. Peace.

    1. Thanks, Dee. I hope the weather improves for you. A little sunshine goes a long way. And having the cats around to keep you warm helps too.
