This blog is meant to be a documentation of our journey into the world of retirement. I know the title should be "Older, but wiser". However, I really didn't know if that would be accurate. The "Older, but better...?" title could also be misleading. The 5 cats in the above pics are: Molly, Rose, Tux, Julie, and Ghost. (I have tried to make this collage smaller, but with no luck...)

Silent Awakening...
Silent Awakening
There is peace here
silent and profound
There is beauty here
alone and unbound
I took this photo on Caddo Lake a few years ago. The silence was eerie... but the Water Lily bloom was beautiful... even in this desolate place.
It's a gorgeous photo! But is that water lily actually growing upright or is it just a reflection? I've only seen water lilies, well, on the water. LOL.
No, it grew straight up... and perhaps its not a water lily, but it was definitely growing on the water. I thought it unusual also, but am not that familiar with water plants.
I just love water lilies! We don't really get them here, since it isn't very wet or marshy in the desert and generally too hot where there is water. What a LOVELY photo.
Thank you also, Julia. Lake Caddo reminds me of the Everglades (although I've never been, but have seen pictures). Later I'll have to post a few more of the photos I took while there.
Very eerie. That is a great photograph.
ReplyDeleteThanks Olga, its one of my favorites.
