You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

This blog is meant to be a documentation of our journey into the world of retirement. I know the title should be "Older, but wiser". However, I really didn't know if that would be accurate. The "Older, but better...?" title could also be misleading. The 5 cats in the above pics are: Molly, Rose, Tux, Julie, and Ghost. (I have tried to make this collage smaller, but with no luck...)

Happy 4th of July 2025 !
If you click here, it should play
"It's a grand old flag!"
I love this song from Yankee Doodle Dandy
with George Cohan
Lyrics here:
Wishing you all a happy safe 4th of July!
Hugs, (virtually),
Rian
That is a great clip--Happy Fourth Rian, my dear friend
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dug. I did it a day early I know... but this 4th is a bit weird with things the way they are right now. However, I love the way this song makes me feel (so proud of what our country stands for - despite what is going on that is so hurtful.)
DeleteI always look forward to your uplifting posts, Rian. Happy Fourth back to you.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, DJan!
Deletebeautiful...it all makes me feel so proud!! to answer your question, i do not see crows in my yard but i have seen them other places in the county!!
ReplyDeleteWe had crows in the neighborhood, but not in our yard... till I started calling them and putting peanuts out. Now they come every day.
Deleteyou ok...with all that flooding in texas??
DeleteYes, we're fine, Debbie. The Hill country had the flooding and it was awful. But daughter's area is ok... roads around her flooded, but not her property.
DeleteHappy Birthday Rian! Congratulations on your special milestone!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the birthday wishes, Dug!
DeleteI really like the waving flag!
ReplyDeleteThanks, John. I love the flag... and love that song, "It's a grand old flag"!
