Rabbit! Rabbit! White Rabbit!
October is here... and I'm so-oo glad!
Although it's still pretty hot here in Texas,
I know it should start to feel like Fall soon.
Here's wishing everyone a happy healthy safe Fall Season!
Hugs (virtual),
Rian
This blog is meant to be a documentation of our journey into the world of retirement. I know the title should be "Older, but wiser". However, I really didn't know if that would be accurate. The "Older, but better...?" title could also be misleading. The 5 cats in the above pics are: Molly, Rose, Tux, Julie, and Ghost. (I have tried to make this collage smaller, but with no luck...)
Don't you (rabbit rabbit) mean October?
ReplyDeleteYes, thank you, Barbara. I updated it. .... sometimes I wonder where my mind is.
DeleteHi Rian, I am a long time reader/lurker and also a Texas neighbor in Fort Worth. I enjoy your posts and appreciate your updates. So many of my regular blog favorites have fallen by the wayside. I am inspired today to comment on the rabbit, rabbit custom. I have been aware of this tradition for a number of years, but it’s not something that has been observed in areas where I have lived. I have come to the tentative conclusion that it is associated with the British culture which has then been picked up by mostly those in New England and on the East coast. What do you know about the rabbit, rabbit history?
ReplyDeleteActually I know little about it... but would love to know more. I picked it up somewhere and thought it a lovely custom. My dad was born in England and my grandmother and her family are from there... so maybe some things like this (as well as my love of tea) come from genetics??
DeleteRabbit comment from Meg. Didn’t intend to be anonymous…
DeleteRabbit, rabbit, rabbit! I'm probably saying it too late. Darn. It's already the afternoon. I can't believe it's already October. Good gosh!
ReplyDeleteOh, Kay, I'm so glad it's October... but before we know it, it will be Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. And I'm not ready for those yet!
DeleteThinking of you and hope you are doing well and can see out of both eyes. I am jealous.
ReplyDeleteThank you, DJan. Yes, it is great having my left eye back again. And I'm always thinking of you and will continue to pray and send good thoughts and vibes your way, dear friend.
Deleteenjoy the upcoming change in temperatures. i can't believe september is in the rear view mirror!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that October is here. We do get a little cooler weather in the early morning, but so far 80's and 90's still by afternoon.
