Glaciers in Glacial Bay |
I loved the blue square in the center here. Don't know why, but it fascinated me...
and this cave in the ice...
As we drifted by, huge pieces of iceberg floated by and we saw one 'calving' where the ice slid away from the glacier and floated off into the water.
and my camera caught this lone seagull flying by...
Isn't she beautiful? |
Beautiful photos, Rian.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deb.
DeleteOh, wonderful! What an experience, to see the glacier calving. Terrific shots, and I love that you got that from your balcony!
ReplyDeleteI know, Kim. I don't think I'll ever go on a cruise again without a balcony. It does cost more... but it made such an awesome difference.
DeleteLovely... Cool.... Peaceful...
ReplyDeletemore like COLD... but definitely peaceful.
DeleteWow! Amazing shots, and I do love the mystery of that cave. I don't think I'd go in, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, me either... but if a bear had come out and waved, that would have made my day.
DeleteYour photos are lovely, Rian! Wonderful captures!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda. I just kept snaping photos... it was so beautiful, I couldn't stop.
DeleteBreath taking scenes ...the ice is beauitful yet scarey ...so vast ...yet gradually breaking off into the sea. It must have been wonderful seeing this. xx
ReplyDeleteIt was awesome (but possibly I'm easily impressed by nature).
DeleteGlacier Bay was the favorite part of the Alaskan cruise for me. I especially was impressed by the sounds of the glacier...the white thunder. We saw numerous calvings while we were there. So glad you had a good trip.
