Some of the pieces where the crystal glazes came out well...
A few more pieces that I particularly liked |
The next pic is of one of my Raku pieces that was done a few weeks ago ... not anything special, but I was pleased with how it came out. Raku is kind of unpredictable.
I've only tried Raku one other time about a year ago. Some didn't come out too great, but 2 came out interesting.
And before I sign off for the evening, these 2 young feral cats come to our back kitchen door every morning. Their little faces pop up like clockwork when we walk into the kitchen for our coffee. We have started calling them Cisco and Poncho as they are always hanging out together. Aren't they sweet?

ReplyDeletegorgeous ferals!
thanx for sharing
Thanks, Selina. Just visited your place. So happy you took that black kitty in!
DeletePottery is always so unique and personal. Those are two sweet little faces at your door! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenn. And I agree that pottery is unique and personal... maybe all art is. Some things just speak to you while others don't.
DeleteThose feral kitties are adorable.
ReplyDeleteNice opportunity when a substantial workshop like that pops up. I really like your rooster.
Aren't Cisco and Poncho cute? I want to take them all in, but definitely can't do that.
DeleteThe workshop was one of the best I've attended.
Yes, they are very sweet, and you are learning new techniques all the time, it seems. I like your Raku cups. :-)
ReplyDeleteLearning new techniques is my goal. And although I may be too old to learn it all, I am having fun.
DeleteThe pottery is so neat, I imagine the workshop would have been great! You already know I'm in awe of anyone who can do anything creative like this. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, those sweet kitty faces! Irresistible!
Kim, I did enjoy the workshop... more so than some others I've attended. And I think it was due mainly to the fact that this Artist was so user-friendly that even when he was talking about the chemistry of glazes, he made it entertaining.
DeleteLove your pottery! What a great creative endeavor. Oh Cisco and Poncho are cute as buttons!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I was checking out your site and noticed that you are doing watercolor. I love watercolor! Have done some on my own, but have been hoping to take a course in the near future. Our pottery class is next to a painting class and I watch them and want so much to join them... but don't want to give up the pottery. Thinking about taking it in the summer. Good luck with yours!
DeleteThey are very cute
ReplyDeleteThanks, Adam! They (Cisco and Poncho) are very cute.
DeleteThe pottery is lovely! You and your group are very talented.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I love the kitty faces too. :)
