Big Texas Sky |
I had to take this picture as DH and I were driving home from the grocery this week. The sky was so pretty and the green grass and yellow hay bales just made a terrific photo.
Here are a few others of my favorite photos of Texas:
Horses
Rodeos
Texas Hill country
It is HOT here in the summer... but Texas has it's own appeal!
Now... our oldest son who only recently moved to Hawaii has been sending us beautiful pictures of the area that they are in. I will share a few of them here:
Sky, Sea, and Sand...
and from the look of this next one... contentment !
Sorry I had to use such large photos, but you really don't get the effect with smaller ones. Hope they aren't a problem on your blog.
These photos may not be of any interest to you. There are so many beautiful places in this world... but Texas has it's moments... and it's nice to be able to share.
Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing. It's tough to choose between the green grass contentment and the sand and water contentment. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI agree, Jenn. Both are beautiful... in their own way.
DeleteOhhhhh....wonderful photos! My favourites are the first of the horses and the sunset (presume sunset) in Hawaii. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteKim, I do miss being close to water... in New Orleans, we always had Lake Ponchartrain and the Mississippi River - and the Gulf about 45 mins away. I'm not a sun bather, but I do love to walk on the sand and see the waves. So I think I would like visiting Hawaii. My son says there are lots of horse ranches around also.
DeleteLooks like a good place to live to me, lots of green. Not sure if I could live without green.

Yes, it would be hard to live without green.
DeleteLove the pictures. Texas is so diverse it's interesting to see different areas to get an idea of the geographic differences you can experience there. I grew up in northeast Texas near Texarkana which is really very different from where you live and vastly different from the Hill Country.
ReplyDeleteI know, Vic... from Padre Island and Galveston to the Panhandle - and from West Texas to East Texas - all very different. Texas has beaches, desserts, swamps, and piney woods.
DeleteYou had me at the horses. Two different worlds Hawaii and Texas aren't they? Both beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, both beautiful,Patti.
DeleteI love all your photos, but my favorites are the horses at the stone wall, and the pretty little cowgirl pics.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chip. I visited your blog and I too love Beatrix Potter and her stories.
DeleteI so appreciate your sharing your photos. Yes there are many beautiful places in the world, but these are some of the lovely Texas and Hawaii landscapes, which I don't get to visit! Thank you. :-)
ReplyDeleteI guess we get to visit them virtually through blogging. I know that I do this on your wonderful walks around your area, DJan. If I enlarge the pic, it's almost like I'm there with you and your hiking buddies.
