just pics... and a few posters

See the lizard sunning himself in front ?

My son sent me this pic a while back when they were living on Oahu. He built the little sailboat and apparently
the lizard decided to Captain it...

And DH's brother sent us this one recently when their

Night Blooming Cereus bloomed

This is just a close up of one bloom,  but he actually had a total of 38 blooms over 3 nights

These flowers are gorgeous and have the

most heavenly scent

granddaughter getting her next belt...

This is our youngest granddaughter
getting the next belt
in Tai quan dao

Next are just a few posters that I like:

...and

I'm going to close with this poster

 (as I wonder this myself

every time I see the feral cats

 watching me)

As always, thanks for visiting.  I really appreciate your taking the time to check out what I have to say (even when it isn't much).

Most of us have so much going on in our lives

(and in those close to us)

 that we don't share...

Why?

Don't know...

too personal? Too scary?

Maybe sharing it would make it real?

whatever...

But I appreciate being able to share

what I feel comfortable sharing.

Hugs (virtual),

Rian

  1. What a delightful collection.
I have some of those night flowering cacti and look forward (so much) to them blooming every year. And take a kazillion photos.
I shudder to think what Jazz has named me...
And hooray for kindness being the new cool. Long may that fad last.

    1. That night bloomer is one amazing flower! As for what our cats may call us...I would love to know.

  2. Thanks for the picture of the Night Blooming Cereus. I had a neighbor in Florida that had one and NEVER saw it in bloom. Health really is the new wealth. With out it, we have nothing and it is worth any effort to attain. From the look on my cat's face, pretty sure I don't want to know her name for me. I am sure she thinks of me as a slow moving, not too bright servant.

    1. When we had a night bloomer, even the cats would gather round when it bloomed. The scent was amazing. And I agree with you that health is really the new wealth.

    1. Thanks, Dug. She is pretty proud of it! And she has enough energy that Tai quan dao is a good way for her to express it.

  5. The second "poster" that you featured struck a cord with me. As to the cat one, I think my name might be "Lady who feeds me" or "Lady who takes the burrs out of my fur" or "Lady who says no". -Jenn

    1. I know what you mean about the 2nd poster, Jenn. Sometimes I wonder how I got this old this fast... time gets away from you. Best to quit focusing on the "when.." and think more about the "now".

  6. Sometimes I do not write because I am too tired or have so little to say. My life is a bit of a bore, but I like it that way. Your photos are so similar to some that I have gotten recently that for a minute I thought I knew you!

  7. What a gorgeous flower! Congrats to your granddaughter.

The last meme makes me laugh - I'm sure my cats have had numerous names for me over the years, some of them not so nice. :)

    1. Oh Mae, when I open the front window every morning to see how the weather is... I talk to the 2 ferals that are always there waiting. One is a young black cat DH calls Squeaky as he likes to talk to you and has a very squeaky voice and the other is a large black cat he calls One Eye obviously because he's lost an eye in a fight at some time. Both seem to like me talking to them... and pay close attention (Squeaky actually comes to the window and sits there looking at me. One eye remains on the porch but pays close attention). I often wonder what they are thinking...

  8. Oh, I love it all, Rian, but especially that one about the richness of life when you aren't chasing after money, but happiness instead. And I believe Loving Kindness is one of the best gifts anyone ever gave anyone. :-)

    1. Thanks,DJan. Loving kindness is missing in politics.. or maybe there's no place for it there... (I do hate to think that). But being mean and saying mean things will never get people to see things your way (at least IMO). But still it goes on...

  9. I really enjoyed all the truths with your shared posters. The one with Time Is Running Out hits home!!
I have several night blooming on our patio...the largest number has been three blooms at once. And the BEST photo is your granddaughter...that is amazing - you must be so proud!!

    1. I know, Anni. Time is running out... and this pandemic seems to have put us at a standstill of sorts. But it is what it is, and we'll deal with it.
Those night blooming cereus amaze me! They are so beautiful.
And yes, we are very proud of our young granddaughter!

  10. I think Covid has done a number on our ability to have fun and find interesting things to post about. I know it has me. But, we press on and pray for a better day. Loved that cute little lizard in the boat.

    1. Yes, it has done a number on us... but we'll persevere and maybe learn something from the experience? I hope so.
