Great Sign! |
Saw this on Pinterest the other day and think it's a great sign. I may have to go back and see if it's for sale. It would be great to put on our gate.
Also made this dark chocolate cream pie for DH (actually we all love pie, but DH occasionally says, "I need pie") so-oo...

This was using only unsweetened dark chocolate. I have made chocolate pies with semi-sweet, bitter-sweet, and cocoa powder trying to find the perfect dark chocolate pie that a neighbor of ours (who has now passed away) used to make. Still haven't found it, but this one was good. We even added some fresh cut strawberries to the top later.
This morning we awoke to weather warnings, possibilities of tornadoes, etc. The cats do not like it when it pours, thunders, and lightnings. Julie and Tux were nervous nellies and poor Ghost stayed under the bed. Even the outside cats stayed close to the house and looked anxious.
By noon most of the warnings were off. So we finally left to go grocery shopping. It was still pouring while we shopped, but had pretty much stopped by the time we headed home. They're saying it may get bad again this evening. Hope they are wrong.
My grandson (who taught me mindcraft) is also teaching me a card game called Magic - the gathering. It consists of several decks and is extremely complicated. Seems to be a lot like dungeons and dragons - which my kids played growing up. But I'm old... and it's taking me a long time to catch on.... however, he is very patient.

I'm also watching and enjoying The Crown on Netflix. Giving me a different perspective on some things. Don't know which perspective is correct or accurate... and seeing some of the characters in a different light. Anyone out there have opinions?
I love that sign too, definitely think it's worth buying (for yourself) if it's still available.
ReplyDeleteThat pie looks oh-so-good. I'm almost 9 weeks without sweets and haven't lost a pound, which makes me wonder why I'm bothering. Ha.
Good luck with the complicated game. I never was one for either card or computer games, the best I could manage was the easy form of solitaire. LOL.
Kudos to you for 9 weeks without sweets. The most I've ever gone is 2 weeks... good for me physically... not sure if it's good for my mental state. It really needs chocolate on occasion. As for the card game, it's learning something new - and I'm OK with that. As I said in my blog, my grandson is very patient.
DeleteIs there a new series of the Crown? I watched what I thought was the whole thing and have enjoyed it immensely. And it's so good to have young people to bring our aging brains into some new activity! :-)
ReplyDeleteDJan, the Crown I watched was probably the old series, not a new one - but I hadn't seen it. I keep looking for new ones for Doc Martin. I've seen the old ones on PBS, but haven't seen any new ones. I know one can subscribe to Acorn TV and I believe they have new ones... just wish PBS would get them.
DeleteThat sign is perfect for you; oh pie, I love pie, have never been a cake nut, just give me pie. as for the Crown, have no idea haven't seen it. the card game looks too complicated for me. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI love pie too, Linda... especially custard, chess, and buttermilk. Chocolate cream is a favorite too, but most are just chocolate pudding. I prefer a dark dense chocolate.
DeleteWe've watched many of the episodes of The Crown on Netflix. I'm not sure how accurate it is, certainly it's from a different perspective. We do enjoy it, though. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it too, Jenn. The actors that played Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip were really good. I just wonder how historically accurate it was...
DeleteMy animals hate storms also. Minnie the cat hides and Callie becomes a trembling mess glued to my side. Glad your grandson is keeping your mind busy learning new things. Stretching is good for our minds as well as our bodies.
ReplyDeleteI've always found it interesting that animals seem to 'sense' a storm coming. And yes, my mind is definitely learning new things... slowly but surely.
DeleteYou really do need that sign! I do not like stormy weather. I am more nervous than any of the animals. Hope you didn't have any storms later.
ReplyDeleteLuckily we didn't... just lots of rain.
DeleteI love that sign and the chocolate pie looks delish!
