I was texting this morning with a friend that has a lot going on in her personal life these days. And we were discussing how worrying about it doesn't help... and that we need to find little things that bring us joy.
And I happened to look up at my cat calendar hanging on the wall above my desk... and smiled. Gary Patterson makes these and I find them adorable. They make me smile, so I thought I'd share a few with you.
This last one is my favorite!
I know this is a post without much content. But if it made you smile, then I'm happy.
On a more serious note, I want to share a few pics I came across of Jane Goodall:
May she rest in peace... her life made a difference.
Hugs (virtual),
Rian

Oh, I like that last image of her with Steve Irwin. I saw his son on a TV commercial recently, and he's the spitting image of his dad.
ReplyDeleteThe calendar cartoons did make me smile, thanks for those. I hope you're continuing to heal well.
Thanks, Kim. I love that pic of Jane with Steve also.
DeleteRian those cat calendar artworks are so you, and this was a nice mini-memory of Dr.Jane Goodall. I'm glad she lived a long life. I hope your eye is doing well. 😌
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dug. My eye is still a bit blurry, but it has a protective lens in that the doc will take out probably this Wednesday. My eyelid is also a little 'different'... fine with me, but he wants to watch it. (I really don't want another surgery).
DeleteSo, how does the cat grin at the same time he's ready to attack the vet? Cute. Love that Steve Irwin is hanging out with Jane. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteGood catch, Linda. I like the 2 eyes under the counter...
DeleteI love your cat calendar photos, and had to go back and look for the two eyes under the counter. It’s always good to make me look further. Thank you for the tribute to Jane Goodall, a wonderful leader in animal rights.
ReplyDeleteYes, the two eyes under the counter and the little mouse in the head of the cookie jar...
Deleteand we definitely need more people like Jane Goodall in the world.
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is September. I've seen a cat or two react that way to the vet's office. :)
ReplyDeleteMay Jane's words continue to be heard.
Oh, yes... and some come in dragged on a leash mopping the floor.
DeleteJane Goodall, "Somehow we must keep hope alive." So very true at this time in history.
ReplyDeleteWe can try...
DeleteI loved all of your shares, Rian. And I too smiled at the eyes under the counter. Your posts are a true blessing. Thank you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks, DJan. Sometimes little things can make us smile.
DeleteI really like that last photo of Goodall and Jeff Irwin. Their messages of caring for animals was a heartfelt lesson for the world.
ReplyDelete... and the world is in dire need of some heart. (and I hope things have settled down for you, Kay)
Deleteher life did make a difference...i often feel like i have not done enough for others. that i am selfish with my time because there is so much i want to do...i cannot give away any of my time and miss doing something i want to do. i did charity work when i was younger but because of my health situation, i am more careful and mindful of the choices i take on. chuck and i are both caring for our mothers. his mother is 87, mine 91 and it is a full time job...neither of us have any siblings that will help us. the cat pictures made me smile!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I understand. I think all of us feel that we should or could have done more... but as long as we do what we can for those around us, it may be enough. Mother Teresa once said, " Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love."
