Simple snapshot of my life...

Maine chest that we use for coffee table (cluttered)
I happen to be going through some photos online today when I came across this one taken one night a few weeks (?) ago.  At the time I was sitting on the sofa watching TV, reading a book, and playing with my iphone (I multi-task...) when I snapped this pic of our cluttered coffee table (which is an old wooden chest I picked up in Maine the summer '2000). As you can see, Julie was lying among my knitting, sketch books, and graham crackers.  As I looked at the photo, it hit me like a reality check... this is a simple snapshot of my life.

Isn't it funny how certain pictures, scenes, etc. can invoke feelings?

  1. Purrrrfect Photo Op! Unplanned. But so purrrfect! Love it!

And I love it, that we can find random things, to show pics of, on our blog. And they give our Dear Readers a better peek-into-our-life, than primped-up and planned pics! Yes!!!!

  2. It looks a little cluttered, but actually quite a nice life, if you ask me. :-)

  3. Very like my house except the cat is leaving, carrying the knitting high, a fine trophy.

    1. You are right there. I have to keep a close watch or they will run off with it... and web the house!

  4. I love how warm and natural this photo is. It is a scene right out of your life and one that you can enjoy over and over again. It spoke to you right away so this makes it even more special, Rian :)

    1. Jan, it's true that when I took it I was just playing around. It wasn't until I happen to see it in my gallery of pictures online that it caught my attention.

  5. The photo has a comfortable feel to it. If everything is lined up in straight tight lines it just makes me nervous. Sometimes I get into a compulsive mood and "organize" everything. The only problem is that afterwards I can't go back and find where I put some of them!

    1. John, here we sometimes use the word "save" for putting something away. So you may save your dishes, or any particular article, etc. Most of the time if I "save" something that I want to put away in a safe place, I'm lucky if I can ever remember where I saved it.

    2. Exactly, John! I know this "mood" very well :)

I'm also looking forward to your photo's of the projects made by classmates (from your previous post). Your bird house looked very nice.

    1. I'm anxious to see them myself. I've seen a few in progress, but since some were working in another room, I have no idea what their projects are...
