nothing much...

I saw this on Amazon and thought it was so-oo neat!  If we didn't already have 2 cat trees out on the back porch, I would consider this.
(wonder if I could add tree branches to ours?)

There's really nothing to blog about this morning, but I thought I'd share this cat tree and this funny meme with you.

My daughter has a black Great Dame named Moose. He is the sweetest thing.  They also have cats and when the cats were kittens, they would drive Moose nuts... playing with his tail, jumping on him, etc. He would never get mad, but did his best to get away from them. This reminds me so of him.

And I have to ask if any of you out there are playing Wordle?  I think DJan is. DH and I just started. I like that there's only one word per day. It keeps one from playing too long.

Oh, BTW, just received our free Covid test kits! How about you? Really wondered if we'd ever get those... and wonder even more about the free masks. Not that I question the intent, just the delivery... since supplies and deliveries are having so much difficulty these days. Since DH has been long over his Covid cold and neither I nor grandson have ever showed any symptoms, we will save these test kits until there's a reason to test.

I guess that's all for today. It's Friday so...

Hugs (virtual),
Rian

  1. Yes, I am rather addicted to Wordle and am very happy there's only one a day! So far I think I've only lost once and that was before I learned the tricks of the trade. I just wish people who offer clues in my comments would not do that!

    1. I haven't played more than a few days, so I have no comments to make... and no tips. I probably should check out tips as I'm not sure if double letters are OK.

  2. I don't know what it is with me and cats, but you had me laughing with that Moose story, Rian! I could just picture that (especially after you posted that one meme). I keep hearing about this Wordle but have no idea what it's about, I should check it out--and yep, I just got my own Covid test kits in the mail. I read that they expire after so long, but saw no such expiration dates on mine..

    1. If your Covid test is the same as the ones pictured above, there is a "Use by" date on the back of the box to the right of the QR code.

    2. Moose is a sweetheart... and like many Great Danes, thinks he's a lap dog too. When I go to visit, he likes to 'lean' on me which kind of pastes me against a wall. But it's all done affectionately so I don't mind.
As for Wordle, I just checked it out a few days ago. It's easy and fun. Just google nyt/wordle and it will come up.

  3. No covid kits received to date!
    I love the cat tree.

    1. I think those cat trees with the tree branches or bushes is a great idea... unless as Kia mentioned, your cat might chew on them.

  4. I love the Great Dane on the counter - it's hilarious. Wordle is great, and like you I'm grateful it's only one a day. It could get very addicting.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Yes, I have enough problem with Nintendo Switch's Animal Crossing which I have been playing since the pandemic started. I'm not usually a game person (not even cards), but I am addicted to Animal Crossing. So yes, glad Wordle is only one a day.

  5. Rian, Hi from Washington state! I'm playing Wordle, the word I always start with is "ROATE". Got that suggestion from someone online who mathematically calculated it to be a great starting word. I recently received the free Covid tests from federal govt. Hoping I never have to use them. BTW I live with a sweet 10 year old dilute tortie cat. She no longer likes to jump up or down, so she's not interested in cat trees. I recenty saw a great cat tree in a pet food store, but she probably wouldn't use it. Take care.

    1. Welcome, Mary! Thanks for the Wordle hint. I just start with any 5 letter word that comes to mind... the more vowels the better. I will try roate.
And when we had cats (had them all our married lives until now) ours weren't too keen on the cat trees either. But the outside feral cats seem to enjoy them. Our son gave us the ones we have now knowing how we feed the ferals.

  6. I'm a huge fan of Great Danes (have owned 2)--Loved that picture. Got my tests and the free masks are at Walmart here but they are not that nice and are really uncomfortable. Think I will stick with my surgical ones.

    1. Patti, we order the Kn95 masks through Amazon... usually order Miuphro. Our daughter-in-law uses Lumina. Both of these are very comfortable... lots of breathing room and fit well. Granddaughter uses them at school too. But I'm sure your surgical ones are fine. We haven't seen any free ones yet.

  7. The story about Moose was great. 😁

That cat tree looks awesome, though perhaps not for cats that will chew on just about anything. Derry would try to eat the artificial leaves!

I don't play Wordle, though I know it's immensely popular. Limiting it to one word per day is a good idea!

By chance I was able to pick up a test kit yesterday at the grocery store I was in. Here in Ontario, Canada various stores and pharmacies have them to give away, but they've all been gone in other stores I've been in. I don't imagine I'll need the tests, but it's good to be prepared just in case.

Take care and have a lovely weekend.

    1. I can see your point about cats chewing on the artificial leaves... perhaps I will add real tree branches to our outside cat trees... see how they like that.
As for the test kits, we will save ours also until needed. Perhaps when we feel comfortable enough to start visiting friends again, we will test ourselves first.

  8. thanks for the hug, I really could do with a big one.
I have the masks and the tests; as I have not had Covid and keep well away from carriers I have not used the tests yet.
I'd love to play Wordle but I know nothing about it. Will have to check out how to get into it.

  10. No painting lately... and really need to finish a quilt, but haven't got the material for the backing. May think about doing that soon. I do plan to stuff some artichokes soon - have had a craving for them recently.
