This is important... |
It's strange that I've been blogging more often lately... or so it seems. But I figure that when I find something to share or I have something to say, I'd better do it immediately or it will be lost forever. I'm not sure if this is short term memory or not. All I know is that thoughts come... and go pretty quickly.
Anyway, today I'm sharing this next thought :
My daughter's hubby found a bunny in his vegetable patch yesterday. She sent me a picture and said that he/she seemed old and tired... and very cold.
They took him inside and he didn't move much for 24 hours. Now he's up eating and jumping around on her bed. She has posted pics of him under 'Found Rabbit' around their area in the hill country, but so far no one has claimed him.
She says he is very sweet and beginning to get comfortable - may be someone's pet who got loose or has been out on his own for a while? Anyway, this is what I call an act of kindness... they could have left him out there to fend on his own.
That was definitely an act of kindness to bring bunny indoors. It must have been someone's pet at some point to be so content to hang with the human. We used to pick up baby rabbits in the field when we were kids, and they never lived away from their mothers. I think we finally learned the lesson by the time I was 10 or 11 to just leave them where they were.
ReplyDeleteYes, baby animals do need their moms to survive... unless someone takes on the role of their mother. I bottle fed many a baby kitten in my life... carried them around in my pocket at work and fed them every 2 hours.
Deletehappy sunday rian, these are some really good meme's, i enjoyed them!! taking in the rabbit was definitely an act of kindness. your daughter sounds a lot like you!!!
ReplyDeleteMy kids have had almost every kind of animal you can imagine... as kids and as adults. Animals have always been a part of our lives.
DeleteLooking forward to subsequent installment on the bunny's story. Dust if you must ode is priceless!
ReplyDeleteBunny has now been named Leo the Lop... to be continued.
DeleteI'm so glad the rabbit was rescued. I suspect he'll have a new forever home if no one claims him. ❤️
ReplyDeleteI love that "dust if you must", as I tend to focus too much on the dust in my house, and trying to keep it under control is a futile endeavour!
Yes, I can see that it will be hard to give him up even after only having him one weekend.
DeleteBunnies can make great pets. They can be litter box trained and they love to snuggle. That one had to be someones pet.
ReplyDeleteHave to agree with you and Charlie Brown.
This bunny seems to act like he's very happy to have been found.
DeleteSuch a sweet bunny! I look forward to hearing what happens to him/her. And thanks for the great Sunday funnies. I want one of those t-shirts! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is calling him Leo the Lop... from the Serendipity books.
DeleteThat's a lucky rabbit.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Joanne. He hopped into a good thing.
DeleteThat tee shirt is a perfect gift for one of my friends. I will have to look for one.
ReplyDeleteI think you can find that t-shirt on the "life is good" website, Olga.
DeleteOh how neat finding that poor bunny. That surely was an act of kindness. What a sweet bunny. I love bunnies and really miss mine. Okay, that "Dust if you must" is perfect. I hate dusting worse that any housework that has to be done. Maybe we have too much stuff and that makes dusting hard. I always enjoy your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Henny, I enjoy your posts too. The bunny so far has been unclaimed and is becoming a part of the family. He seems to have made himself comfortable. As for dusting, I don't mind so much... but don't do it too often.
