Rabbit! Rabbit! White Rabbit! March 1, 2025

Rabbit! Rabbit! White Rabbit!

It's March 1, 2025!  The year is flying by...

I want so much for this to be a good year. But it's certainly not looking like that's going to happen.

Told DH yesterday that it was miraculous that so many actually survived the Pandemic, but may be lost in the next 4 years.

Who would have thought that the U.S. citizens would ever let this happen? After the civil war, how can anything be allowed to divide us again? After Hitler... why haven't we learned anything? Are we as humans fated to destroy ourselves?

Everything our country was built upon... life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is being taken away. The constitution states "We the People"... not one man. The words on the Statue of Liberty:

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free. The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

Do they mean nothing anymore?

How can this be happening?

I don't understand.

Sorry this isn't an uplifting post. It's all just so sad and unbelievable.

Hugs (virtual),

Rian

  1. Not everything has to be uplifting... I'm just glad to see you posting Rian, and this was honest and well said. I hope you're feeling healthy and you & DH are doing well.

    1. Thanks, Dug. We are doing fine. I just don't understand why one man has to be in the news every single day for... whatever. It's just un-nerving. Possibly because we are all waiting for the next shoe to fall? But I'm feeling fine at the moment. Hope you are too.

  3. I'm sorry Rian. It is sad and depressing and I feel it is hard to keep up right now. I hope that spring brings promise to all of us.

    1. Spring always makes me feel better, Miss Merry. It's my favorite season... what with everything springing to life!

  4. I just walked a couple miles and was happy to be able to do that much. My heart is so heavy as I realize that America no longer is the country where I celebrate our freedom. But for the first time I remembered "rabbit rabbit" when I first awoke!

    1. DJan, can you believe it's March already? Before we know it, it will be Christmas again (and I can't help wondering what the situation will be by then). Sorry, forget that. The weather is beautiful today and I hope to walk the neighborhood and enjoy it later today.

    1. Good advice, Joanne... and pray. Prayer can be a powerful force if used for good... and done by enough people for the good of all.

  7. It's tough to watch here too, as we have no idea how/what will be impacting Canada next. But, I know it is even more painful for many people in the States.

    1. Mae, those of us who could see what he was up to, voted for Kamala.
However, when people say that we voted him in, they're right... and in a democracy, you accept the vote. But when the man starts to unravel everything our country stands for, you can't accept that. I hope the rest of the civilized world comes down on him hard.
