Completed cat breed puzzle |
DH (and I) finally completed the cat breed puzzle! He did most of it, but I helped with a piece here and there.
What I needed to vent about here is unimportant in the grand scheme of things (the Pandemic), but aggravating/irritating (never knew when and how to use these two) just the same. Those of you that follow my blog know that since January, 2020 - our dryer and our dishwasher both died. Yesterday our washing machine joined in their passing. DH and I keep looking at each other and wondering what will go next. (Hopefully not us... and I know that's not funny, but a real possibility these days).
Anyway, the serviceman who comes out (and is beginning to know us well) was very nice. DH was at his radiation so he wasn't home. I welcomed him in - standing 6 feet away and wearing my home-made mask. He was very understanding and said that he wasn't sick (that he knew of) and was very concerned that he might bring something in to his customers so for us to be sure and spray and wipe down any area he worked in after he left. We did.
I locked Ghost up while the serviceman was here as she doesn't do well with strangers. I'm going to have to make it up to her later - maybe with a good brushing or a play with the laser bug. I did take this picture of her yesterday (guess I'm a little bored to be taking pictures of my cat's paws). But I never noticed how pink her pad were... kind of pretty with her grey fur.
Ghost's pink pads |
They're even pinker than the picture shows....
OK, that's it for today. Please stay home and stay safe... and thanks so much for visiting!
Hugs,
Rian

That's *three* appliances, it's all good from here. (I wonder where that old expression originated, that things come in threes.)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, hopefully you and your hubby will be around for a very long time yet! Stay safe, stay well.
Kim, I don't know where that expression came from... but hopefully that's it. These appliances were old and did last a long time, but really did they all have to be replaced at one time?... and what a time (when nothings open and we have to stay home).
DeleteI just never get fed up with looking at my cats. I often notice things that I have not seen before about them and go all gooey, lol
ReplyDeleteWe've had cats all of our married life, that's since 1964 and I never, never tire of them.
We should be having the gas boiler serviced but have put it off for a bit, with Tom having lung disease it's not wise to take any chances.
We have both got the jigsaws out but the only problem with that is that nothing else gets done, lol. Guess you can't have everything.
Keep safe
Briony

Ghost thought I was strange staring at her feet and then taking a picture...
DeleteWe too have had cats all our married life (1968). My mom didn't care for cats so I'd never been around them until then. DH's mom had cats and we got 2 Siamese kittens not long after we were married. After that, I was hooked.
My appliances are all approaching that magical ten year limit of planned obsolescence but I am hoping that only being used for half the year they might go twenty years. Not a chance I am sure! Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteI love that cat toes gave you some joy. We really are starting to focus on the little things that really matter. I hope as a world we can do that.
Our appliances were older than 10 years so its not that they weren't ready to go... just that they picked a heck of a time to do it. But at least we're not stuck on a cruise ship - that's got to be the worse (IMO anyway).
DeleteAnd yes, Ghost's toes do give me joy!
You didn't mention whether the repairman was able to get the washer going for you. I sure hope so. And those are really pretty little kitty paws. Thanks for sharing them. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo, afraid not. He is ordering a new transmission... which won't be here until next week. Good thing we can't go anywhere and won't need clean clothes.
DeleteHow are you guys doing over there? Feeling any better? My son in Hawaii called to tell us that his wife (who is a nurse in the ICU) got tested yesterday. She has a bad cough... Please pray that it isn't Covid-19 as she has many underlying conditions. We are waiting on the results.
Squee...Ghost has jelly bean toes....so cute!
ReplyDeleteSorry about the washer. If things happen in threes perhaps this is the last? Fingers crossed.
Take care and stay well!
Good analogy, Mae... jelly bean toes! Pink Jelly Bellies!
DeleteYou take care and stay well too!
(O)
ReplyDelete? I probably should know what that means, Joanne, but I don’t... neither did DH
DeleteI just hope everything is fixed for the duration. That's quite a puzzle you did!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it will be fixed by next week... (fingers crossed)
DeleteDH did it... I helped (a little) - but it was an interesting one.
Oh my...they always say, bad things happen in threes. So maybe now you two will have something good happen.
ReplyDeleteThose cat paws melt my heart! (You can be bored anytime with photo shares like that. I'll take 'em any old way!)
We DID have something good happen, Annie! Yesterday we found out that our DIL (on Oahu) tested NEGATIVE for Covid-19. She works as a nurse in ICU and has been coughing a lot lately. She will have to stay home and get well, but NO Covid-19!!
DeleteWonderful news about your DIL. That is the first of the 3 good things.
DeleteSo sorry about the appliance Apocalypse. I always wondered if they send signals to eachother that it is time to go on strike. However, I do believe good things come in threes also. So get ready for the good stuff.
ReplyDeleteBoy... am I ready. (But I won't hold my breath)
DeleteDear Rian, hope no more appliances decide to hit the dust. That puzzle intrigues me. Where did you buy it? I have 2 puzzles to work that were given to me as Christmas gifts. I've got the table set up and as soon as it's warm enough here to work in the garage, I'm got to be "puzzling!" Take care; stay safe. Peace.
ReplyDeleteHi Dee! The Cat Breed puzzle was given to us on Oahu last summer by my son and his wife. They had a basket of Hawaiian goodies waiting for us and that puzzle happened to be there too. It's from Ridley's Jigsaw puzzles and called "Cat Lover's". Can't wait to see your puzzles when you get started on them. Stay home and stay safe!
