Friday - I have so many things I need to do today that I probably won't get done... but that's OK. Knowing there's always tomorrow (or hopefully so) is comforting.
DH and I visited a dear friend yesterday. She lost her husband this past November and we try to get out there to see her whenever we can. It's a nice drive - about 40 minutes north of Dallas. Her place is on 36 acres with a creek running down the back. We sat outside on the back porch with her and her 3 dogs and enjoyed an hour or two of good conversation, coffee/tea, and girl scout cookies! (Did you know the girl scouts now have gluten free cookies... and they were pretty good) Anyway, it was a really nice visit and so good to be out and about.
Today I'm working on last minute proofing on my sequel... getting there slowly but surely. Hope to have it done and on Amazon by Easter... hope, hope, hope.
Also plan to stuff artichokes this afternoon. Bought some beautiful specimens at Central Market this week. But if I don't get to them today, I will tomorrow.
Would like to walk the neighborhood at some point today. Waiting for a little more sunshine to appear.
And last on my list (besides normal chores like washing clothes, and planning supper) is to thoroughly dust this computer room. I've left it for last - but can't put it off too much longer - actually I can and just might.
Update on daughter's rescue bunny: still at her house enjoying the leisure life. Someone at her work is willing to take it. Daughter is trying to decide what to do.
Question: Do any of you out there have either an Apple watch, Fitbit, or Amazfit? (and there may be other brands I'm unaware of). Anyway, on the news the other night they mentioned something about the Fitbit's using radiation (very low) and possible dangers.
I have worn my Amazfit every day since I got it at Christmas and enjoy all it's functions from steps, to heart rate, to oxygen level, amount of deep and light sleep, etc. My favorite feature is the one that buzzes to tell me when my phone is ringing (and who is calling) when I left the cell phone in another room and can't hear it. This is very convenient.
But... I have noticed way before the news mentioned it, that sometimes in the night when the Amazfit is glowing red and green on my wrist that it feels like it's burning (ever so slightly) - but there's never any redness or sign of such. So when the news came out with this, I thought, "ha! it wasn't my imagination!" if others have felt this too.
It may be completely harmless, I don't know. I was just wondering if anyone else has anything to contribute here.
Saturday - Finished the things I planned to do yesterday today. Well, all but the dusting. That I put off.
There really isn't anything else to mention here, so I guess I'll share a cute pic of a crochet kitty couch I saw on Pinterest...
I have wondered about the radiation from my Apple watch. I wear it all the time except when it's charging. I haven't noticed any redness but with radiation, it's subtle anyway. I'll keep using it, figuring I started late in life and all the stuff I've been exposed to is more likely to kill me than my watch! I am looking forward to the sequel. No hurry, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you there, DJan. With all the x-rays, CT scans, and MRI's we endure, I can't imagine the little we get from our watches would take us down.
DeleteThat's a beautiful black and white.
ReplyDeleteI own no Apple products, and can't help you.
Your Toby is a gorgeous cat, Joanne
Delete... and the only Apple product I own is my iPhone. It's an old one - an iPhone 6, but I love it.
Love that crochet Kitty Couch, can just see it now covered in fur, lol

It caught my eye too, Briony, but wouldn't attempt such a thing.
DeleteI had a Garmin but for some reason it has become a regular watch that stays in my car. It has a long battery life (over a year) and doesn't need charging. Glowing in the dark would be a bit upsetting.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the sequel.
The glowing does bother me a little, Patti, but only if I happen to put my arms up around my face. I'm sure it's all fine. There are so many other things going on these days that a glowing watch doesn't make the cut.
DeleteI dunno. But maybe just take it off when you go to bed? Have a good walk in the neighborhood (I love my neighborhood walks).
ReplyDeleteI have taken it off, Tom... but may take your advice and try wearing it just during the day so I can take advantage of the phone notices.
DeleteI've never had any issues with either Fitbit (lost the first in when I knocked it off the sink and into the toilet. Didn't realize it and flushed). But I may have read up on any potential issues.
ReplyDeleteLove the cat couch. My Saku would love it. Hmmm...do I need another project? Not really. Happy dusting! :)
Thanks for the comment, Mae. My daughter uses Fitbit and hasn't experienced any problems. I've taken off my Amazfit this week, but will go back to wearing it soon and see...
Deletei always have a list, some fun things, some work things...i never finish everything!! i don't have any of those watch gadgets so i'm not able to help you, sorry!!
ReplyDeletei like that kitty couch!!
I like lists too, Debbie. If I don't finish something, I just add it to the next day.
DeleteBut it's nice to scratch things off as done.
