a mishmash...

You may have seen this. It was on Facebook (I think). When I read this, I couldn't help but laugh. Now he has 2 identical cats.... (ha! that's so great!)

****************************

Also I've been thinking about trying some new recipes. I love to cook, especially love to bake, and have saved a lot of new ideas from the Pinterest site.  However, I may see a picture of something that looks wonderful, then I read the instructions and ingredients and I'm afraid that my reaction is similar to this next poster.

Do any of you remember these cookies?

rossettes

We used to make these years ago. My kids remember them.

And does anyone remember these glass coffee cups?

Nescafe' coffee cups

Sorry it's not a great picture. I just snapped it inside my cup cupboard. We used these for the longest... and I think we had to send away for them. They are a very thick glass with a world map etched on them.

Going to close now as  DH and I have to leave in a few minutes to go pick up our Central Market curb-side order.

Ready to venture out...
Hugs,
Rian

  1. I saw that cat meme somewhere recently too. I can so relate to the recipe one. I save all kinds of recipes and stick the basics I know and love when I'm in the kitchen.

    1. Yes, Olga, I think we all have our basics... the ones we can rely on and everyone likes. I've been planning to try to make yeast rolls for ages, but never have. Maybe now's the time?

    1. The rossettes are good... kind of a lot of trouble because of the frying. I don't fry much of anything anymore.

  3. I hadn't seen that cat joke, I love it, it's great.

I save easy recipes from Pinterest, but since I loathe cooking I've tried only a handful of them. I've not seen those cookies, btw. They look. look yummy!

I like your masks. A few of my Etsy orders have shown up, so I have some cloth masks now too. I've discovered that your face can get quite warm, even steamy, wearing them. And that your sunglasses steam up too! 😄

    Take care, stay well.

    1. Kim, my big problem with the masks are that my glasses won't stay on. Something about that elastic over my ears makes my glasses fly off...

  4. it's a challenge wearing a mask with glasses, the N95 masks which I had in my studio are very hot to wear in the grocery for an extended period of time. amazing two cats the same colors, how great, we all need a boost of good news. be well

    1. I don’t have an N95 mask... only fabric ones I’ve made, but my glasses slide off constantly when I have a mask on... so yes, it’s a challenge, Linda.

    1. DJan, I've finally found a pattern that works for me. DH is wearing it and it's simple to make, has a twistie nose guard, and a pouch for a filter.

  8. Those cats are a hoot. Must have been separated at birth. I LOVED those coffee cups and couldn't wait to own some. Can't find them now though:( Too many moves.

    1. Actually Patti, I put my original Nescafe'cups in the dishwasher which washed all the etchings off. I bought these years later when I saw them in an antique store... (you can bet that I won't put these in the dish washer!).

  9. Your masks look great! I recall those cookies, though my mother didn't make them, we got them as a gift from a friend of hers. Yummy! Mom also had glass coffee cups but they were just plain glass.

Well, I sure hope neither of my cats go missing. I don't need another pair!

  10. Those world map mugs are very cool.

I can tell from your photo that you have nice eyes. Ha ha! We are all mysterious now.
