thank you... and a very weird Wednesday

This post is just to thank you all for the comments made concerning "Whisperings". It's just a fun piece, but I so enjoyed writing it that I thought it worth a share.

I could have gone on with it, but to be truthful, if I did, it would probably get dark (like Harry Potter's story did... I liked the first 2-3 books best before it got dark - but that's just me). Knowing how people are, there would be some who would never accept the 'new ones', some who would be jealous of their 'abilities' or want to use them for nefarious intentions. So I chose to end it where I did so readers could choose their own outcome. I personally think that despite the division that may crop up at first - that eventually good would win out and humanity would evolve in the best possible way.

Enough said.

Now I'm going to tell you about our weird Wednesday (yesterday) and why I was late posting Part Four.

DH didn't feel well Tuesday. He spent most of the day in bed due to chills and headache (?). But he had no fever and slept a good bit. Wednesday he seemed fine.  That was how the day started out.

Next, the computer was having problems... so we spent a good part of the morning on the phone talking to the Geek Squad at Best Buy straightening that out. By then it was almost noon and we had errands to run.

DH went out to get gasoline for the car and returned a bit shaken. He had fallen/tripped over the gas line at the station and fell rather hard. No one was around. His elbow was bleeding and his side was bruised.  I doctored his elbow, and he took some Tylenol as we both knew he would really be sore later.

We continued to go out and run our errands. On return to the house a dear friend texted that she was nearby at the Eye Doctor's. She lives about 40 minutes away in the next town, so doesn't get in our area very often. I asked if she would like to stop by for coffee... and she did. We had a nice visit.

This now put me at almost supper time and I still hadn't posted Whisperings Part Four. So I got on the computer and did that. Later after supper, I noticed that I too wasn't feeling too great. So I decided to call it a night about 7 pm and went to bed.

This morning all seems well.  Hopefully it stays that way.

Have a wonderful Thursday! Thanks so much for putting up with my weirdness and stories...  (possibly you are all a little weird too?)

Hugs (still virtual),

Rian

  1. I hope that both of you are still feeling better today and that DH isn't feeling too battered.
I am glad that you had an excellent visit with a friend in your weird day - you probably both needed it.

    1. Thanks, EC. DH is sore, but not too bad... and I'm fine again. And you're right, a visit with a good friend is always uplifting.

  2. I loved the story just the way you ended it. It was sweet, positive and warm. What most of us needed.
Ooh, I am glad DH is feeling a bit better after the fall and good to hear the unknown illnesses you both had are abating. The visit from your friend had to have been a boost.
    Take care you two.

  4. I do hope your DH didn't do much damage to himself. Falls can be so dangerous.

Like the two of you, I had a bout of not feeling well but it didn't last long. Though I did have a fever, I have no idea what caused it.

    1. It's so weird, Mae. With the pandemic and wearing masks, we have hardly been sick at all for the last 2 years... so when something happens and we don't feel well, we immediately think Covid... which could be, but not necessarily. As long as it goes away quickly, we've decided not to worry about it.

  5. I hope both of you are doing better and a visit from a friend made the day a lot brighter. You have such a sweet kitty family.

    1. Thanks for dropping by, Soma. I saw some of your watercolors on your blog and liked them. I play around with watercolors, but have never really done a lot with it. Love the simple watercolor 'wash'. And I also agree that stories need to end with 'hope'...

  6. Oh, gosh, I hope you're both okay now, and that you don't have a "weird" day like that again.

I've seen the first two cartoons, but not the Snoopy one, I love it. :-)

    Do take care!

    1. Thanks, Kea. We seem to be fine now. As for the cartoons, I get them mostly from Pinterest. Like to check Pinterest out - some of them make me laugh out loud... and it's good to laugh these days.

  7. I'm glad you are feeling better. Sorry to hear about hubby's illness and fall. I still haven't read Part 4 but am looking forward to it very much. Thanks for the update on your weird day! :-)

    1. I think we are fine, DJan. Don't know what we had that made us feel unwell... but whatever it was, it was gone in 24 hours (thank goodness). Hopefully next week I will start working on putting up a second page just for stories. Dug's Page tutor looks fairly easy, but I'm a bit tech challenged.

  8. Falls are so scary as we get older. I've taken several and luckily was able to heal, but it could have been worse.
